Archiving Policy

Primary Care Science and Practice (PCSP) is fully committed to the long-term preservation of the scholarly research it publishes. To ensure that all digital content remains permanently accessible and secure, PCSP implements a multi-layered archiving and preservation strategy:

1. Global Distributed Archiving (LOCKSS and CLOCKSS)

PCSP utilizes the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) systems through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). These programs create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries worldwide, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for the purposes of preservation and restoration.

2. National Repositories

  • Garuda (Garba Rujukan Digital): All journal content is systematically indexed and archived in the Garuda portal, managed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia.
  • National Library of Indonesia: PCSP ensures that digital copies are submitted to the National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia) as part of the national mandate for the preservation of electronic publications.

3. Self-Archiving (Green Open Access) PCSP supports the Green Open Access policy. Authors are permitted and encouraged to self-archive their work. Specifically:

  • Version of Record: Authors are allowed to deposit the final, published version (Publisher's PDF) in their institutional repositories, subject-specific repositories (e.g., PubMed Central, Zenodo), or personal websites immediately upon publication.
  • DOI Integrity: Authors must provide a link to the original publication on the PCSP website and include the article's Digital Object Identifier (DOI) in their self-archived record.

4. Website Continuity: In the event that PCSP ceases to publish, all archived content will remain accessible through the LOCKSS/CLOCKSS networks and national repositories, ensuring that the scientific record is never lost.
